Lt. Governor position on November Ballot

We made it! The 1,000 + signatures needed were gathered and Mr. Steve Maxfield , unaffiliated candidate for Lt. Governor, will be on the November ballot alongside Mr. Farley Anderson , unaffiliated candidate for Governor.

I realize a lot was asked in a short period of time and some are still wondering what they did when they signed! That’s understandable.

The Utah Independence Project (http://www.utahlive.us/) in March announced the story of Farley Anderson ’s acceptance of a Citizen’s Call to run as the people’s candidate for Governor of Utah.

Following that announcement there ensued a court battle between the State of Utah and The Utah Independence Project over The Project’s constitutional right to use electronic signatures to fill citizens’ petitions.

On June 22, 2010, the Utah Supreme Court voted unanimously in favor of The Independence Project.

Mr. Anderson, a qualified candidate for governor, chose Mr. Steven Maxfield as his running mate for Lt. Governor. This announcement necessitated gathering 1,000 citizen signatures very quickly because the candidate filing deadline was today, June 30th.

Thanks to you, those signatures were collected and turned in to the governor’s office today!

Lovin’ liberty.
